About MUDITĀ
"Muditā (मुदिता), 人々の喜びにみずからも喜ぶ心を持つこと"
Muditā is an organization founded by a group of friends in Japan who were transformed by their experiences abroad.
This organization aims to plant and cultivate the seeds of empathy in their home, Japan, through the beauty of art.
Our three major missions are 1) to create and increase opportunity for young Japanese people to experience art, 2) to promote the importance of art education in Japan, and 3) to develop artistic information delivery system in Japan. Art demands from us a willingness to be vulnerable, and through these transcending experiences, Muditā aims to help people connect with one another on a deeper, more personal level... realizing the beauty of human life in each other.
We strive for the embodiment of the new style of delivering art and art education.
MUDITĀ's Activities
Education for People to Live as People
To transform people’s minds about art and learning art, Muditā strives to provide opportunities for young Japanese people to experience art. Our activities will explore and demonstrate the life-affirming power of beauty and will help its audience discover ways of incorporating art into everyday life.
Workshop
We envision a sharing of experiences that inspire people to think about what it means to have a “meaningful life” and show how music, visual arts, theater, and literature can be a catalyst for such inspirations. We envision the workshop as an opportunity to reveal how music, visual arts, theatre, and literature serve as catalysts that spark the realization of life's meaning. Through discussions, presentations, and art related activities conducted in collaboration with international guest artists, local art organizations, and art schools, we will create accessible spaces for people to have these experiences.
Concerts/Exhibitions
One of our goals is to increase opportunities for Japanese young people to have experiences with art in a more accessible way. Muditā’s creative method of showcasing performances of classical music, exhibitions of modern art, and stage performances is designed for the youth in Japan whose lives are consumed by turmoil. We offer a memorable time in the world of art that will transform the stereotype of art appreciation.
MCE (MUDITĀ COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT)
"Muditā Community Engagement" is a program designed to help Japanese students learn how to approach art. The key to Muditā’s art education is “Empathetic Experience”. We believe that direct interaction with artists is the most immediate way to come to a better understanding of this Sympathetic Experience. MCE offers a new path of self-exploration that will bring positivity and reflection into young Japanese people's lives.
